Calculation·conversion criteria

Find the volume and total surface area of a cylinder.

Volume=πr²h, surface area=2πr(r+h)

Input example

Radius 2, height 3: volume ≈ 37.6991118431

If radius 2 and height 5, the volume is 20π and the outer area is 28π. The outer area is the value plus two circles on the side.

How to use

  1. Use the entered example value or change the radius or height item.
  2. Click Verify result and check the following result.
  3. Result can be copied if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the area of an open lid container be obtained immediately?

The visible area includes both side surfaces. If one side is open, the area of a single circle must be reduced by πr², and wall thickness or joints gaps are not included in the calculation.
