Calculation·conversion criteria
Compare fuel consumption from km/L and L/100km with US mpg.
Input example
10 km/L = 10 L/100km
20 km/L means that 100 ÷ 20 = 5 L of fuel is needed to travel 100 km, so the rate is 5 L/100 km. The two units are reciprocals, so the direction of the numbers for fuel efficiency is also reversed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is mpg the same in the US and UK?
The size of a gallon varies, so comparison with the same number is not possible. This tool uses only US mpg based on US gallons. Entering British values directly does not result in the correct conversion.
