How to extract audio from videos
4.008 seconds of public video example: clicking extract audio produces an ~4-second audio result. It is a file with only sound, without a screen, and the storage format and size depend on the codec supported by the running browser.
Only the audio of the video is saved as a new file.
The file is played and recorded in this browser. It does not copy the original screen or metadata, but is recreated in the audio container and codec supported by the browser, depending on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and the device.
No external links or long videos are supported.
Processes only selected MP4, WebM, MOV, or page public examples. Does not download video platforms URLs and processes up to 100MB·60-second videos. Extraction takes as long as the video playback time.

Calculation criteria and reference materials
- MDN — MediaRecorder format support verification and recording
A criterion to first check the MediaRecorder output format of each device. Support reports do not guarantee actual encoding success or resource availability.
- MDN — AudioContext media element connection
Connect the audio and video elements of the selected local audio/video to the browser audio graph and stream target. Video frames are not included in audio output.
