Not real-time exchange rates. Fee discount rate is calculated as a reduction based on the entered fee rate. Bank-specific customer exchange rates, fees, and cash units vary. If a customer exchange rate already includes fees, enter the fee rate as 0% to avoid double calculation.

Calculation·conversion criteria

Calculates expected foreign currency amount based on directly entered exchange rate·separate fees·preferential assumptions from the total KRW budget for travel.

Applicable fee rate = entered fee rate × (1 − discount rate); converted principal = total budget ÷ (1 + applicable fee rate); expected foreign currency = converted principal ÷ entered exchange rate

Input example

Budget 100,000 won · Exchange rate 1,400 won/USD · Fee 1.75% · Discount 50% → fee approximately 867 won · approximately 70.81 USD

If you enter a budget of 100,000 won, exchange rate of 1,400 won/USD, separate fee rate of 1.75%, and discount of 50%, the applied fee rate is 0.875%. Reporting the won budget as the amount including fee, with deposit 99,133 won, fee 867 won, and expected receipt 70.81 USD, the actual customer exchange rate already includes the fee, so the fee rate is entered as 0%.

How to use

  1. Use the entered example value or change the including fee KRW budget (won), exchange rate (won / foreign currency 1 unit), separate exchange fee rate (%), fee discount rate (%), foreign currency code (e.g., USD) items.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the exchange rate discount applied to the calculation?

This is a simple assumption that reduces the additional fee rate to the discount rate. A bank’s exchange discount can apply to the difference between the standard exchange rate and the customer rate, and it differs from actual bank conditions.

Is this the actual amount received from the bank?

No. Real-time exchange rates, bank purchase/sale rates, and cash units are not automatically retrieved. Check the applicable exchange rate and fees of financial institutions just before the transaction.

How to enter if a customer exchange rate includes fees?

If the applied fee is included and a separate fee rate is set to 0%, the fee is not added in this calculation.
