Duplex photocard printing

Arrange front and back images in an A4 duplex PDF.

Without images, an original front/back example is used. The same pair is repeated in every cell.

Each image: up to 10 MiB, 3,000 px per edge and 4 million pixels. Images fit without cropping; unused space stays blank.

The artwork itself is not mirrored or rotated. Select the same flip edge in your printer settings.

Errors measured from a test print

Rightward and downward shifts are positive; leftward and upward shifts are negative. Enter the difference between intended and printed positions in mm.

Measure the back-side error while viewing the back PDF upright. Corrections affect only the back page.

Files and settings are not uploaded or stored. They are cleared when you leave, reload or reset the page.

Print PDF result

Print on portrait A4 at Actual size / 100%. Turn off fit and shrink options and test on plain paper first. Printer feed accuracy is not guaranteed.

How to use and processing criteria

Repeat one front/back image pair in multiple cells on portrait A4. PDF page 1 is the front and page 2 is the back. Long-edge duplexing uses back x = 210 − front x − card width; short-edge uses back y = 297 − front y − card height. The artwork itself is not mirrored.

Actual example

The default 54 × 86 mm cards in 3 columns and 3 rows fit 9 cards on A4. With long-edge duplexing, a front cell starting 21 mm from the left maps to 135 mm on the back (210−21−54). If the upright back print shifts 2 mm right, enter +2 for rightward error to move the back PDF 2 mm left.

Reserve 12 mm at the top for instructions and 5 mm at other edges. Every corrected cell must stay within this area. Limits: 100 cells and a 50 MiB PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do long-edge and short-edge flips differ?

On portrait A4, long-edge flips sideways like a book and short-edge flips vertically like a calendar. The PDF reverses back-side columns for long-edge and rows for short-edge. Select the matching printer option and test the public example to confirm physical orientation.

Can I print several different image pairs at once?

The same front/back pair is currently repeated in every cell. Select both images or leave both empty for the public example. Aspect ratio is preserved without cropping, so blank space may remain.

Why can the front and back still be misaligned?

Paper feeding, duplex registration, paper thickness and print scaling affect physical alignment. Test portrait A4 at Actual size / 100%, then measure the back while viewing it upright. Skew and errors that vary between prints are not corrected.

Where are my images and filenames sent?

Images and filenames are not sent to a server or analytics. Images are re-encoded as PNG locally before PDF embedding; the downloaded PDF contains their pixels. Navigation and reset clear in-browser inputs and results, but files already downloaded must be deleted by you.
